SIGNING OF BPIH AND DAU ACCEPTANCE TO BPKH
Jakarta – the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organization of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Nizar, and the Head of the Hajj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) Executive Board Anggito Abimanyu signed the minutes (BAST) of the cost of organizing the hajj (BPIH) and the Ummah Endowment Fund (DAU) to BPKH at the office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in Banten Square, Jakarta, Friday (11/1/2019). The handover comes from the initial deposit, paid deposit, and value of benefit and the Ummah Endowment Fund (DAU), which includes assets and liabilities as well as legal rights and obligations for Hajj finances, along with their assets. The transfer of assets is in accordance with the provisions of Article 59 of Law No. 34 of 2014 concerning Hajj Fund Management.
Needless to say, there are two sources of hajj finances, namely hajj finance and Ummah endowment fund. The hajj finance comes from deposit for the cost of organizing the hajj (BPIH) deposited by pilgrims who are set to depart in the relevant year. The ummah endowment fund comes from the rest of the Hajj operations or the efficiency of the ongoing Hajj funds. The process of diverting hajj funds from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to BPKH has begun since early 2018 and has been carried continuously.
