BPKH TO BEGIN DISTRIBUTING VALUE OF BENEFIT NEXT YEAR

GOOD NEWS FOR HAJJ PILGRIMS IN WAITING, BPKH WILL START DISTRIBUTING VALUE OF BENEFIT NEXT YEAR

Surabaya – The Hajj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) held a virtual account dissemination event for hajj pilgrims in Surabaya, East Java. Iskandar Zulkarnain, the BPKH Executive Board Member, said that his party was obliged to maintain a virtual account as a form of open and transparent management of hajj funds. In addition, Law No. 34 of 2014 concerning the Management of Hajj Funds contains a mandate for the BPKH to have a Virtual Account.

This account will record the balance of a hajj pilgrim’s initial deposit plus the value of benefit or returns obtained from the results of investments made by BPKH. Currently, the initial deposit balance of hajj pilgrims is set at Rp25 million. This virtual account was made in collaboration with Deposit Acceptance Bank (BPS) – Hajj Organizing Cost (BPIH).

BPKH has prepared a virtual account management system that receives benefits from the proceeds of hajj registration fees that will be managed by BPKH. The benefits for the pilgrims in waiting will be given out periodically, with the plans being to give them out every six months. The plan was that by early 2019, the value of benefit will begin to be distributed to pilgrims in waiting. The total of value was still awaiting its realization as of the end of December 2018. At the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) event, BPKH also simulated its virtual account services as well as calculated and distributed the value of benefit with Bank Jatim Syariah. Prospective pilgrims who registered at BPS-BPIH will be automatically registered at BPKH and receive a virtual account and be notified via SMS.
