Hajj Fund at BPKH of Rp115 Trillion is Safe and is Not Used for Infrastructure

Jakarta – BPKH has managed hajj funds reaching Rp115 trillion in April 2019, an increase of Rp10 trillion within a year.

The fund has been placed and invested through safe and optimal sharia financial instruments. BPKH projected a value of benefit of Rp7.3 trillion, which will be used to fund operational cost of hajj in 2019.

For the increase of 10 thousand pilgrimages, BPKH supported the finance through Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) procurement efficiency of Rp65 billion; and the value of benefit optimization of Rp55 billion. Of total cost needed of Rp353.7 billion, BPKH will provide contribution of Rp120 billion, Rp50 billion of which is used for hajj operational efficiency by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Rp183.7 billion comes from State Budget.

The Head of BPKH Executive Board Anggito Abimanyu has never issued any statement that BPKH’s finances are running low. BPKH finances are sufficient and safe. More importantly, not a single rupiah of hajj finances is used directly for infrastructure development purposes.
