VALUE OF BENEFIT OF HAJJ FUND REACHES Rp6 TRILLION IN 2018

Jakarta – The Hajj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) recorded a total value of benefit or returns from the 2018 Hajj fund investment reaching Rp6 trillion. It increased by 28% compared to 2017 which was Rp4.7 trillion.

The value of benefit will be allocated for the implementation of the pilgrimage, the returns for prospective pilgrims, and the operational costs of BPKH. For the return, BPKH has distributed the value of benefit of Rp500 billion to the prospective waiting Hajj pilgrims starting in February 2019. The value of benefit is distributed to around 4.1 million prospective pilgrims waiting for the Hajj. The distribution of the value of benefit of Rp500 billion is the first of two stages of the value of benefit sharing. The distribution of the value of benefit is in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 34 of 2014 Article 22, BPKH is in charge of managing Hajj Finance which includes revenue, development, expenditure, and accountability for Hajj Finance. For these tasks, BPKH carries out several functions, one of which is the implementation, receipt, development, and expenditure of Hajj Finance. To carry out these duties and functions, pursuant to Article 26 letter (c), BPKH is obliged to provide information to Hajj Pilgrims regarding the BPIH value of benefit and/or Special BPIH through virtual accounts of each Hajj Pilgrims.

Furthermore, in Article 26 letter (f), BPKH is required to pay the value of benefit of BPIH deposit and or Special BPIH periodically to the account of each Hajj Pilgrims. The payment of the value of benefit of BPIH deposit and/or Special BPIH deposit benefits is made through the Hajj Pilgrim’s virtual account at BPS BPIH with the amount based on a percentage of the value of benefit of the Hajj Fund for the current year, as stipulated in Article 37 paragraphs (1) and (2) of Government Regulation No. 5 2018.
